Boys Basketball: Fatima 74, St. Francis Borgia 60

WESTPHALIA - The Fatima Comets finished strong Thursday, outscoring the Borgia Knights by 12 points in the second half to win 74-60.

Lee Verslues surpassed 1,000 career points with a 19-point performance for the Comets. Nate Brandt led Fatima with 23 points and Leo Peters added 13.

The game was tied at 17 at the end of the first quarter. Fatima held a 34-32 edge at halftime and increased the lead to 51-44 after three quarters.

Fatima (17-5) will close out the regular season at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Vashon, which is the top-ranked team in Class 4 by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
