WARDSVILLE - It was business as usual for the Blair Oaks Falcons.

Blair Oaks won its 20th consecutive game Friday night, routing the Eldon Mustangs 56-6 in Tri-County Conference action at the Falcon Athletic Complex.

"I feel really good about where we're going," Blair Oaks coach Ted LePage said, as his Falcons scored 50-plus points for the second straight week. "We're able to throw the deep ball and we're having success with that. It's going to back people off, which allows us to run the football so effectively."

Blair Oaks finished with 421 yards of offense on just 35 plays, recording 16 first downs.

After forcing the first of four Eldon three-and-outs, the Falcons scored first with a 34-yard touchdown pass from Dylan Hair to Jake Closser. Zach Herigon added the first of his eight extra-point attempts to make the score 7-0 just 3:03 into the game.

Hair threw another touchdown pass on Blair Oaks' next possession, this time to Carson Prenger, who tiptoed along the left sideline and dove across the goal line for a 45-yard score.

"It's something we do every day," LePage said. "We practice that stuff."

The Falcons recorded their second special teams score of the season later in the first quarter. Prenger blocked an Eldon punt attempt, and Cade Stockman picked up the ball and ran it in from 40 yards out. That extended the lead to 21-0 with 2:34 still to play in the opening quarter.

Blair Oaks added a pair of touchdown runs in the second quarter. Riley Lentz scored on a 2-yard run and Stockman added a 9-yard run to make the score 35-0 midway through the quarter.

Following an Eldon punt that resulted in a touchback, Blair Oaks took over on its own 20-yard line with :23.8 to play in the first half. Hair completed a 54-yard pass to Cobi Marble, and after a spike and an incomplete pass, the Falcons had time for one more play.

Hair found Marble again, wide open in the end zone for a 24-yard touchdown pass as time expired, giving the Falcons a 42-0 lead at halftime.

"He's got the speed that's hard to match up on," LePage said of Marble. "We felt like once he got his confidence going, he was going to add another dimension to this offense."

Blair Oaks added two more scores on its first two possessions of the second half.

Lentz scored on a 4-yard run less than two minutes into the third quarter. Then, with the second-string offense on the field, backup quarterback Gavin Wekenborg scored his first career varsity touchdown on an 18-yard run, extending the lead to 56-0 with 4:21 left in the third.

"We played a ton of kids tonight, and we saw a great reward out of it," LePage said.

Eldon controlled the ball for the next 10 minutes of the running clock. The Mustangs capped a 15-play, 75-yard drive with an 18-yard touchdown run by quarterback Dallas Hardy with 6:38 left in the game.

The Mustangs were held to 60 yards of offense in the first half - 42 yards rushing, 18 yards passing. Their scoring drive in the second half accounted for the rest of their offense in the game.

Hair was 9-of-12 passing for a career-high 234 yards, all in the first half. He also added four carries for 50 yards, while Lentz had seven carries for a game-high 65 yards.

Closser caught two passes for 86 yards and Marble added 80 yards on his two grabs.

Eldon (0-5) was led by Braydy Hill, who had 20 carries for 54 yards.

Blair Oaks (5-0), ranked No. 1 in Class 3, plays next Friday at Hallsville, which received votes this week in the Class 2 state rankings.

Hallsville (4-1) knocked off Class 3 No. 6 Southern Boone 33-21 on Friday in Ashland.
