Helias' Crull wins boys title at Fulton cross country meet

FULTON - Jack Crull of Helias captured top honors Saturday at the Fulton Cross Country Invitational, winning by nearly a minute.

Crull, a senior, finished with a time of 16:30.44. Thomas Doss of St. Charles was second in 17:27.58.

Helias was first in the 17-team event with 36 points. Fatima was second with 68, while Capital City finished third with 84.

Jenson Starr was fourth for Helias in 17:54.74. Peyton Kirchhoff was ninth (18:16.52), while Logan Mathews was 10th (18:31.43). Grayson Knerschield finished 12th (18:37.38), while Brady Voss (18:51.19) and Matthew Abbott (18:51.77) were 21st and 22nd, respectively.

On the girls side, Helias finished second in the 15-team event with 102 points. Fatima was first with 74, while Centralia took third with 109.

Alexa Lamb led a strong effort team effort by finishing ninth in 21:57.99. Arica Ketcherside was 16th in 22:38.25, while Ava Morrisey was 27th in 23:43.60. Natalie Schlup was 33rd (23:59.48) and Avery Massman was 35th (24:14.43). Paige Allen (24:36.50) and Sabrina Schlacks (25:32.71) were 40th and 57th, respectively.
