Cross Country: Calvary girls win Invitational title

MOKANE - The Calvary Lutheran Lady Lions took team honors while the Lions were second Saturday at the South Callaway Cross Country Invitational.

The Lady Lions finished with 37 points to lead the three-team field. Christian Fellowship School was second with 41, while Linn was third with 42.

Maddie Homfieldt won the event for Calvary in 21:23.07, while Sarah Johnson was third in 21:55.85. Baileigh Morris was 15th in 24:49.07, while Jordyn Mays (27:52.63) and Rebecca Schatte (28:39.28) were 20th and 21st, respectively.

On the boys side, Calvary finished with 48 points. New Bloomfield was first among four teams with 46, while Russellville was third with 53 and Linn fourth with 65.

Kyle Hagemeyer was Calvary's top finisher, taking sixth in 18:11.29. Grant Going was eighth in 18:20.15, while Isaiah Barg was 13th in 19:20.31 and Cole Going was 14th in 20:02.16. Lars Marion (20:47.13) and Josh Thieme (21:11.34) were 23rd and 29th, respectively. Alex Roettgen (21:27.19) finished 32nd.
