M.S. Cross Country: Thomas Jefferson boys 2nd at Oakland Park

COLUMBIA - The Thomas Jefferson boys finished second, while the Lewis and Clark girls placed third Wednesday in the Oakland Park meet.

Thomas Jefferson posted 68 points in the boys standings, trailing only Gentry's 22 points. Lewis and Clark finished sixth out of nine schools with 137 points.

Connor Chinn led Thomas Jefferson with a seventh-place finish in 8:56 in the 2.4K race. Ben Conrad placed 10th in 9:12, Trevor Vogt was 16th in 9:28, followed by Zach Brown in 17th with a time of 9:29. Jonathan Sotonwa rounded out the Patriots' team score with a 21st-place time of 9:45.

Lewis and Clark was led in the boys race by Seth Stumbaugh, who finished second in 8:30. John Conger was 19th in 9:38, one spot ahead of Averial Williams, who crossed the finish line in 9:40. Brody Johns was 60th in 11:04 and Noah Britton was 126th in 12:56 to round out the team score.

In the girls team standings, Lewis and Clark was third with 83 points, while Thomas Jefferson was sixth with 132 points. Gentry won the team title with 44 points.

Victoria Smith posted the top time for Lewis and Clark, finishing in eighth place in 10:52. Ella Jobe was 20th in 11:29, followed by Emma Hubbard in 21st in 11:50. Adelaide Jones was 25th in 11:54 and Makayla Cordes finished 36th in 12:39.

Thomas Jefferson was led by Kimber Noble, who placed seventh with a time of 10:34. Kaylee Redkay was ninth in 10:54, Gillian Hardin finished 46th in 13:19, Anneliese Wright placed 51st in 13:36 and Jennifer Klempke was 58th in 14:08.
