Prep Volleyball: Lady Jays top Rolla

ROLLA - After a close first set, the Jefferson City Lady Jays dominated the second to defeat the Rolla Lady Bulldogs 25-22, 25-9 on Tuesday.

Leading the offensive attack was Annabelle Maassen, who finished with 11 kills to go with six digs and two aces.

Setter Paige Reeser tallied team highs in assists with 17, digs with eight and blocks with two.

Rylie Bohanan served well for the Lady Jays, recording five aces on 13 serves. She also had six digs.

Jefferson City (10-1-2) hosts Waynesville on Thursday at Fleming Fieldhouse. The freshman match will start at 4:30 p.m. with the JV playing at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity at 6:30 p.m.

Jefferson City's JV team defeated Rolla 25-20, 25-19 to improve to 2-4.

Hannah Linthacum finished with 10 kills and three aces with Claire Stegeman contributing six kills and three aces. Abby Blake led with 15 assists and six digs.

The Lady Jays also won the freshman match 25-20, 25-11 to make their record 5-6.

Lauren Reid had nine kills, six digs, five aces and four assists. Brooklyn Morrow led with six assists to go with six digs. Elicia Theroff added five kills and two blocks and Grace Spalding tallied nine digs and four aces.
