Prep Softball: Russellville 6, St. Elizabeth 4

RUSSELLVILLE - Cali Coombs went 4-for-4 with three RBI on Tuesday, leading the Russellville Lady Indians to a 6-4 win against the St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets in Show-Me Conference play.

Coombs had two singles, a double and a triple, adding the go-ahead RBI in the bottom of the fourth inning.

St. Elizabeth led 3-2 after the top of the third inning, but Russellville answered with three runs in the bottom half.

The Lady Indians led 6-3 after six innings. The Lady Hornets added a run in the top half of the seventh, but Russellville was able to strand the tying run on base.

Hannah Malzner was the winning pitcher for Russellville. In seven innings, she allowed four runs on nine hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Emily Wilde took the loss for St. Elizabeth. She gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits and walked six in four innings.

At the plate, Maddie Wilde and Reggie Kemna each had two singles for the Lady Hornets, while Tasia Green had two RBI.

Russellville (5-3) plays Thursday at Tuscumbia. St. Elizabeth (3-6) hosts Iberia on Friday.

Russellville also won the JV game 1-0.
