Prep Softball: Eugene 14, Eldon 5

ELDON - The Eugene Lady Eagles combined to score 11 runs in the first and seventh innings Tuesday, defeating the Eldon Lady Mustangs 14-5.

Eugene added a run in the third inning and two more in the fourth.

Kayla Bond led the Lady Eagles, going 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, a home run and four RBI.

Hannah Rader added two hits and three RBI, while Jodi Polly, Leah Schulte and Jennie LeCure each had two hits.

Courtney Shaw was the winning pitcher for the Lady Eagles. In four innings, she allowed five runs on eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts. Maggie Stieferman pitched the last three innings, allowing just one hits while striking out three.

Eugene (5-1) plays Thursday at School of the Osage.

In the JV game, Eldon defeated Eugene 6-5. Alexis Chapman had three RBI to lead the Lady Eagles (2-2), while Destiny Gray struck out six batters in two innings.
