COLUMBIA - The Jefferson City Lady Jays dropped their two matches Saturday in the Rock Bridge Tournament.
They opened up the day with a 2-7 loss to Edwardsville (Ill.).
Singles winners were Sandhiya Baskar (1-6, 6-2, 10-6 match tiebreaker) and Akhi Donthireddy (7-5, 6-4).
Falling in shingles were Sudhi Kumar (0-6, 1-6), Jaden Harper (3-6, 1-6), Lauren Statler (0-6, 1-6) and Kenedy Fischer (2-6, 0-6).
Falling in doubles were Baskar and Donthireddy (0-8), Kumar and Madelyn Becker (5-8), and Statler and Harper (3-8).
The Lady Jays then fell 3-6 to MICDS.
Doubles winners were Kumar and Harper (8-6). Falling in doubles were Baskar and Donthireddy (4-8) and Statler and Becker (6-8).
Singles winners were Donthireddy (4-6, 6-2, 10-2 match tiebreaker) and Kumar (6-0, 6-3). Falling in singles were Baskar (2-6, 3-6), Harper (1-6, 1-6), Statler (2-6, 4-6) and Fisher (1-6, 3-6).
Jefferson City (9-3) returns to action Monday against Kickapoo and Springfield Central in Springfield.
