Prep Softball: Capital City 9, Cuba 3

CUBA - The Capital City softball team recorded the program's first win Tuesday by defeating Cuba 9-3.

The Lady Cavaliers went on top with a run in the first. Capital City led 3-1 after three, 6-3 after five and 9-3 after six.

Maysen Karr went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot, scoring three runs. Camryn Sharp tallied two hits and three RBI while Kennedy Schanuth and Jaiden Kausler added two hits each.

Olivia Wood went all seven innings in the circle, allowing two earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and three walks.

Capital City (1-2) begins play in the Sullivan Tournament on Friday.
