Lady Jays volleyball sweeps Sedalia Smith-Cotton

SEDALIA - The Jefferson City Lady Jays remained unbeaten to start the season Monday with a 25-14, 25-15 win against the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Lady Tigers.

Annabelle Maassen led the Lady Jays with 10 kills and eight digs, while Kayla Walters added six kills. Paige Reeser finished with 35 assists and seven digs and Rylie Bohanon served three aces.

Jefferson City (3-0) plays today at Helias. The freshman and JV matches start at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity match at 6:30 p.m. at Rackers Fieldhouse.

Jefferson City also won the JV match 25-11, 25-9 to improve to 1-2.

Hannah Linthacum finished with seven kills, while Claire Stegeman added six kills and five digs. Abby Blake recorded 18 assists.

In the freshman match, the Lady Jays won 25-12, 21-25, 15-11 to improve to 1-2.

Layne Fatherley finished with four kills, four digs and three aces for Jefferson City. Lauren Reid had seven assists and three aces, while Brooklynn Morrow had six assists and four aces.
