Girls Soccer: Lady Jays blank Lebanon in district semifinals

The Jefferson City Lady Jays defeated Lebanon 3-0 on Tuesday in the semifinals of the Class 4 District 11 Tournament at the 179 Soccer Park.

Top-seeded Jefferson City (15-8-1) will face Sedalia Smith-Cotton for the district title at 6 p.m. Thursday. Smith-Cotton, the No. 2 seed, advanced with a 6-4 victory against Waynesville in Tuesday's second semifinal.

Jefferson City got on the board 13 minutes into the game when Kaitlyn Schwandtner scored off a corner kick by Lindsey Ruff.

Less than 10 minutes later, Lebanon was called for a foul committed in the box. Greta Haarmann converted on the penalty kick to make it 2-0.

Sasha Campbell scored unassisted on a breakaway in the second half for Jefferson City's final goal.

Megan Duffield got the shutout in goal for Jefferson City.
