MOKANE — The Owensville Dutchgirls broke open a close game with a big third quarter Thursday night and defeated the Russellville Lady Indians 80-51 in the third-place game of the South Callaway Tournament.
Owensville led 23-16 after one quarter and 36-30 at the half. The Dutchgirls outscored the Lady Indians 19-7 in the third quarter to take a 55-37 lead into the fourth.
Breanna Diestelkamp, who was named the tournament MVP, had a game-high 29 points for Owensville (7-5).
Jayla Volkart finished with 12 points to lead Russellville, while Macie Edwards added 11.
Russellvile (8-7) will play Monday at New Bloomfield.
