LINN, Mo. - In a back-and-forth battle during the second half, the North Callaway Thunderbirds prevailed Wednesday with a 65-62 win against the California Pintos in the first round of the Class 3 District 9 Tournament.
California trailed 36-33 at halftime, then led 47-44 entering the fourth quarter.
Trystan Hees scored a team-high 23 points for the Pintos. Isaac Ash chipped in 14 points and Trey Porter had 10 points.
California ends the season with a 15-10 record.
