Helias girls beat Southern Boone for fourth straight win

ASHLAND, Mo. - The third quarter made the difference Monday night for the Helias Lady Crusaders.

Down by three points at halftime, Helias outscored the Southern Boone Lady Eagles 17-9 to open the second half and rally for a 52-44 win.

Helias had a 10-9 lead after one quarter, but Southern Boone went into halftime with a 28-25 advantage.

After a big third quarter, Helias led 42-37 entering the fourth quarter. The Lady Crusaders continued to hold a five-point advantage, 47-42, midway through the fourth.

Lindsey Byers and Ellie Rockers both had game-high 12 points for the Lady Crusaders. Lainy Lamb added 11.

Helias (15-6), which has won four consecutive games, plays tonight against the top-ranked Jefferson City Lady Jays at Fleming Fieldhouse. The girls open the varsity doubleheader at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game at 7:30 p.m.
