Track and Field: Blair Oaks at S-C Invite

SEDALIA - The Blair Oaks Falcons and Lady Falcons each finished third in the team standings Monday during the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Invitational.

The Falcons had four event wins, starting with the 4x800-meter relay. Josh Malone, Sam Frisbie, Nick Stover and Adam McCauley clocked a winning time of 9:02.

Blair Oaks also won the 4x400-meter relay, as Jayden Purdy, Josh Bischoff, McCauley and Marcus Edler ran a time of 3:34.

Edler won the 300-meter hurdles in 41.13 seconds, while Jacob Ferrell won the shot put with a throw of 43 feet, 5 inches.

The Falcons finished second in the 4x200-meter relay. Purdy, Bischoff, Ayden Chouinard and Edler posted a time of 1:36.34. Purdy also took second in the pole vault, clearing 11-6.

Placing third for the Blair Oaks boys were Trinity Scott in the pole vault (11-0), Connor Wilson in the shot put (39-8) and Caleb Buechter in the javelin (118-3).

The Lady Falcons had three event wins. Blair Oaks swept the titles in the 4x800, as Natalie Heckman, Bailey Rissmiller, Kati Schoeneberg and Emily Sporleder won the girls event with a time of 10:41.

Schoeneberg also won the 3,200-meter run in 13:01, while Payton Mitchell finished first in the 300 hurdles in 49.8 seconds.

Finishing second for the Lady Falcons were Sam Laughlin in the pole vault (8-0), Sporleder in the 200-meter dash (27.4 seconds), Chloe Cox in the 100-meter hurdles (18.40 seconds) and Lydia Hart in the javelin (102-10).

As for third-place finishers, Mitchell ran the 100 hurdles in 18.8 seconds, while Kaelin Forck ran the 300 hurdles in 52.6 seconds. The 4x400-meter relay of Claire Russell, Forck, Cox and Mitchell also took third with a time of 4:26.

Blair Oaks is off until next Tuesday when it competes at Knob Noster.
