COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Jefferson City Lady Jays went 1-1 Saturday at the Columbia Tournament.
Jefferson City opened up with an 0-9 loss to Marquette. Falling in doubles were Sandhiya Baskar and Bailey Higgins (3-8), Akhi Donthireddy and Madelyn Becker (3-8) and Sudhi Kumar and Jaden Harper (2-8). Losing in singles were Baskar (1-8), Donthireddy (0-8), Higgins (2-8), Kumar (1-8), Becker (6-8) and Harper (2-8).
The Lady Jays rebounded with an 8-1 win against Springfield Central. Doubles winners were Baskar and Higgins (8-4), Donthireddy and Becker (8-2) and Kumar and Harper (8-1). Singles winners were Donthireddy (8-1), Higgins (8-3), Kumar (8-3), Becker (8-1) and Harper (8-3). Falling in singles was Baskar (6-8).
Jefferson City (13-2) will play Monday at Helias.
