Jefferson City blanks Osage in soccer

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays picked up their fourth shutout of the season by blanking the School of the Osage Indians 3-0 on Tuesday night.

Toby Hughes got the shutout in goal for Jefferson City.

The Jays jumped out to a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when Ethan Blake scored off an assist by Sam Allen.

Jefferson City doubled its advantage less than two minutes into the second half when Brock McGrail scored, assisted by Darby Hall.

The Jays added an insurance tally midway through the second half when Bassil Ahmed scored. Colton Juckette had an assist.

Jefferson City (6-2-0) will host the Capital City Classic on Friday and Saturday at the 179 Soccer Park.

In Tuesday's JV game, Jefferson City was a 5-0 winner against School of the Osage.

Ethan Dubois and Cale Heiberger had two goals each for the Jays, with Kory Smith scoring the other. Dubois had one assist, as did Deandreis White and Chase Schnieders.

Parker Gourley was in goal in the shutout, the third for the Jays JV (4-2-1).
