Girls Golf: Helias, Lady Jays finish in top three at tournament

SEDALIA, Mo. - The Helias Lady Crusaders finished runner-up and the Jefferson City Lady Jays took third place Monday at the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Tournament at Sedalia Country Club.

Rock Bridge won the team title with a 314, followed by Helias with a 344. Jefferson City rounded out the top three teams with a 359.

Greta Hinds of Helias and Sami Swinfard of Jefferson City each led their teams with an 80 to tie for fourth place in the individual scoring.

Nelson had an 82 to tie for seventh for the Lady Crusaders and Jayden Ralston shot a 90. Natalie Beck rounded out the team score with a 92.

For the Lady Jays, Grafton Craighead posted a personal-best with an 87, while Grace Craighead and Karina Betts each shot a 96. Camryn Swinfard also finished with a 99.

Rock Bridge's Olivia Sowers won the individual title with a 72.

Jefferson City plays today in a quad in Columbia at the Club at Old Hawthorne. Helias hosts Blair Oaks and Centralia in a triangular match Wednesday.
