Cross Country: California boys win Bowling Green Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. - The California Pintos wrapped up the regluar season Friday with a team championship at the Bowling Green Invitational.

California finished with 86 points, while Mexico was second with 98. Father Tolton took third with 133 points.

Caden Kirksey led the Pintos with a fourth-place finish out of 183 runners in 17:36.97.

Trevor Porter took 10th place in 17:59.56, while Isaax Ash finished 14th in 18:08.29. Jordan Bondurant was 16th in 18:08.97 and Colby Sommerer rounded out the team score with a time of 18:49.46 to place 42nd.

Other runners for the Pintos were Austin Bolin, who was 75th in 19:35.32, and Jordon Geiser, who was 122nd in 21:06.48.

New Bloomfield's Caleb Distler took seventh place with a time of 17:45.50, helping the Wildcats to a 13th-place finish as a team with 347 points.

Nathan Hinrichs placed 29th for the Wildcats with a time of 18:25.16, while Aliczander Nikonowicz was 87th in 19:52.34. Also running for New Bloomfield were Wil Steele (104th, 20:17.16), Gabriel Browning (150th, 22:17.88), Easton Ambler (168th, 24:02.52) and Aidan Carr (175th, 25:01.12).

The Chamois Pirates finished 22nd in the team standings with 551 points. Richard Schaperclaus led the Pirates with a time of 19:14.82 to finish 57th.

Anthony Keilholz took 102nd place in 20:09.51, while Brandon Dodson was 125th in 21:13.30 and Hunter Nolte was 171st in 24:28.64. Mason Lamb was one spot behind Nolte with a time of 24:28.76 and Eli Paulsmeyer took 183rd in 30:10.25.

In the girls race, New Bloomfield finished ninth in the team standings with 204 points. Mikaela Lemelin led the Lady Wildcats with a 28th-place finish in 22:29.56.

Jillian Pry finished 42nd for New Bloomfield in 23:18.05 and Kylie Quinn took 54th in 23:52.56. Macey Puckett was 67th in 24:21.44, Abby Baxter placed 78th in 25:01.82 and Katie Martin was 93rd in 26:16.82.

Chamois has three runners in the girls race. The Lady Pirates were led by Katie Keilholz, was finished 36th with a time of 22:48.65.

Alexis Slusser placed 60th for Chamois in 24:07.08 and Makenna Wuelling took 94th place in 26:18.28.
