Senevey's perfect game leads Linn past Calvary

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - Linn's Morgan Senevey pitched a perfect game Wednesday, leading the Lady Lions to a 2-0 win against the Calvary Lutheran Lady Wildcats in the first round of the Class 2 District 9 Tournament.

Senevey struck out five of the 21 batters she faced.

Presley Welch took the loss for Calvary Lutheran, which ends the season with a 17-5 record. Welch allowed two runs on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts in seven innings. She retired the last eight batters she faced.

Rachel Keilholz's groundout scored Lindsey Brandt to give Linn a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Destiny Riley added an RBI single in the fifth, scoring Jessica Keilholz to give the Lady Wildcats a two-run lead.

Darby Nolting led the Lady Wildcats, going 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. Keilholz and Aspen Brune each had a double.

Linn (14-7), the No. 5 seed in the tournament, will face top-seeded Blair Oaks (22-4) at 5 p.m. today in the semifinals.
