Boys Basketball: Iberia 54, Eugene 52

The Iberia Rangers held on for a 54-52 win Saturday against the Eugene Eagles in the Show-Me/Frisco League Challenge at Helias.

Iberia led 21-13 after one quarter and 32-28 at the half. The Rangers outscored the Eagles 13-5 in the third quafter to take a 45-33 advantage before Eugene used a 19-9 edge in the fourth quarter to cut the final deficit to two.

Jesse Routh had 18 points for Iberia, while Zack Voss added 17.

Draven Carrender scored a game-high 19 points for Eugene. Tre Kempker chipped in with 11.

Iberia (1-0) will play Stoutland in the opening round of the Frisco League Tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 27. Eugene (0-1) will host Versailles on Tuesday.
