ODESSA, Mo. - Versailles senior Jonathon Geier led the Tigers on Saturday at the Class 3 Sectional 4 meet at Odessa High School.
Geier will be the Tigers' only qualifier at next weekend's Class 3 state track and field championships, but he did so in grand fashion, winning the boys javelin at Saturday's sectional meet with a throw of 167 feet, 5 inches.
The Versailles girls advanced past sectionals in five events, making the cut by one spot in four of them.
The Lady Tigers finished second in the 4x400-meter relay and also placed fourth in the 4x200.
Keely Gustafson will head to state in two individual events with fourth-place times in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
Carrie Hoffa is also a state qualifier for the Lady Tigers, taking fourth place in the shot put.
