Jays golf finishes eighth in Class 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Jefferson City Jays wrapped up play in the Class 4 state golf championships Tuesday, finishing eighth.

Jefferson City shot a 332 on Tuesday, improving by six strokes from Monday's opening round at Swope Memorial Golf Course.

Nathan Erickson was Jefferson City's top finisher, tying two other golfers for 25th with a two-day total of 154. Erickson shot a 75 on Tuesday after opening with a 79.

Brett Trowbridge of the Jays was among six golfers who tied for 56th at 160. Michael Davidson tied for 68th with a 163, while Burke Craighead was 90th with a 193.

Rock Bridge took team honors, following up Monday's 292 with a 290 on Tuesday for a 582. Chaminade was second at 605, two strokes better than Rockhurst. Jackson was fourth with a 623.

Ross Steelman of Rock Bridge was the individual champion, totaling a 136 to win the title by five strokes.
