Boys Golf: Jays' Erickson shares district title

CAMDENTON, Mo. - Jefferson City senior Nathan Erickson finished in a three-way tie for first place Monday in the Class 4 District 5 Tournament at Lake Valley Country Club.

Erickson shot a 5-over 77, which was tied atop the leaderboard with Lebanon's Cooper Hess and Glendale's Lucas Ogden.

Jefferson City finished fourth in the team standings with a 337. Glendale won the district championship with a 311, followed by Lebanon with a 326 and Rolla in third with a 336.

The Jays will send four golfers to the sectionals, which qualifies them as a team for that round.

Brett Trowbridge placed eighth with a 79, while Michael Davidson joined Trowbridge on the all-district team by tying for 13th place with an 87. Burke Craighead made the cut for sectionals by one stroke, finishing in a four-way tie for 22nd place with a 94.

Michael Padberg finished two spots outside the cut for sectionals, taking 27th place with a 98.

The Jays will compete in the Class 4 Sectional 3 Tournament next Monday at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.
