Rock Bridge didn't have its best game Friday at Hogan Prep.

The fourth-ranked Bruins scored a season-low 57 points in their first loss of the season. Rock Bridge got back to form Tuesday at Fleming Fieldhouse, making about any shot it wanted in a 74-57 win against Jefferson City.

"We saw them Friday against Hogan Prep and they missed a lot of shots and they came out tonight and they hit a lot of shots," Jefferson City coach Mark Anderson said. "Some of that may have to do with us, but I felt there were times we had a hand in their face and they just knocked down shots."

The Bruins only missed back-to-back shot attempts once in the game, which came during their first two possessions of the fourth quarter.

A Jamonta Black dunk with 6:41 left started a string of eight straight makes, which included an Isiaih Mosley basket to give Rock Bridge its largest lead of the game, 70-49, with about two minutes left.

The Bruins only missed 12 shots total, finishing 28-of-40 for the game.

"It didn't feel like even that many," Anderson said. "You pick your poison with them. They are tough to guard man-to-man, and so you go zone and you hope they miss some shots."

It was the 3-pointer that got Rock Bridge out front early.

Black connected from the corner for the final basket of the first quarter for a 13-9 Bruins lead.

Mosley capped off the first half with a 3 to lead 31-21 at the break. Black and Mosley scored 20 and 19 points, respectively.

"We liked the pace in the first half, we just got down," Anderson said. " We're not built to come back against a team like that."

DaMani Jarrett, Ben Folz and Jared Cooper tried to keep up with Rock Bridge.

Jarrett slammed home a two-handed dunk before floating up a shot over a double team to get Jefferson City (8-9) within 10-9 in the first quarter.

Cooper traded 3-pointers with the Bruins to start the second quarter and Folz scored half of the Jays' 12 points in the quarter, but the Jays never got back within single digits after Mosley's 3 to end the half.

"They are as good anybody we're going to play this year and we knew that coming in," Anderson said. "We knew we'd have to play really well to beat them. We knew we'd have to have some help, they'd have to miss some shots and they didn't cooperate for us. I thought we played hard, but we just had a few breakdowns here and there and they punish you for everything."

Brennan Jeffries got hot in the second half, making three 3s to lead the Jays with 12 points. Jarrett had 10 points, and Folz and Cooper each had eight.

Tuesday's defeat of the Jays was the third straight for the Bruins. Rock Bridge has won 12 of the past 14 meetings with Jefferson City.

"They play well together, they mixed up defenses, they shoot it well, they get out and run well," Anderson said. " When they're on they are tough to play against."

The next contest for Jefferson City is Saturday in the Central Bank shootout at Rackers Fieldhouse. The Jays will try to break their seven-game losing streak as they face Union at 6 p.m.

"We've got to start guarding better, we've got to start rebounding a little bit better and we'll start seeing some progress," Anderson said. "We've got to stop the bleeding."

Jefferson City won Tuesday's JV game 47-30.

Kaidyn Johnson topped the Jays with 13 points. Kaidyn Kiesling scored 12 and Josh White added eight.

Jefferson City (8-4) will take on Rock Bridge again at 6 p.m. today in the semifinals of the Helias Tournament.
