PLATTE CITY, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders are tied for eighth place after the first day of the Platte County Invitational.
Helias finished Friday's action with 70.5 points. Platte County leads the 12-team event with 130 points, followed by Rolla with 128.5 and Seneca (102.5).
Nick Schnieders was 4-0 at 160 pounds Friday for the Crusaders, with two of those victories coming by fall. Zack Carr was 3-0 at 132, also with two wins by fall. Evan Winder was 2-0 at 120.
Aleksey Salaz at 113 and Jackson Careaga at 152 were both 2-1. Gavin Adams at 106 and Colden Imhoff at 170 were both 1-2. Nate Distler was 0-3 at 145, while Randy Salaz dropped his opening match before forfeiting his next two.
The Invitational will wrap up with pool matches, then bracketed matches today.
