Boys Basketball: Eugene 78, School of the Osage 45

EUGENE, Mo. - The Eugene Eagles used a big second quarter Friday to pull away to a 78-45 victory against School of the Osage.

Eugene led 13-10 after one quarter before stretching its advantage to 41-21 at the half. The Eagles took a 54-33 lead into the fourth quarter.

Austin Engelbrecht led five Eugene players in double figures with 17 points. Mason Kirkweg added 14, while Jacob Adrian and Zack Bond totaled 11 each. Trey Kempker chipped in with 10.

Zack Wheeler led Osage with 16 points.

Eugene (13-4) will take on Sedalia Smth-Cotton next Thursday in the opening round of the Eldon Tournament.

In Friday's JV game, Eugene posted a 49-44 victory against Osage. Hunter Thompson paced the winners with nine points.

In the freshman game Friday, Eugene defeated Osage 40-28. Trent Parr totaled 17 points to lead the Eagles.
