ST. LOUIS - The Helias Crusaders had three players score in double figures, but the Hazelwood Central Hawks were able to come away with a 64-51 win Monday at the Vashon Winter Classic.
Landon Harrison and Nathan Bax each led Helias with 15 points, while Ben Cooper finished with 13 points.
Hazelwood Central, ranked No. 3 in Class 5, led 17-7 after one quarter and extended it to 32-18 at halftime. The Hawks were ahead 47-34 through three quarters and led by as many as 21 points in the fourth, but the Crusaders used a 12-0 run - started by back-to-back 3-pointers from Cooper and Alex Buschjost - to trim the deficit to 58-49 with 2:10 to play.
Helias (10-5) plays today against the Jefferson City Jays at Fleming Fieldhouse.
