Prep Wrestling: Blair Oaks finishes ninth

WARSAW, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons had six wrestlers finish in the top four Saturday at the Warsaw Tournament, placing ninth out of 20 teams.

The Falcons posted 102.5 points with just seven wrestlers competing. Marceline won the team championship with 226.5 points, followed by Buffalo (187), Father Tolton (173.5) and Bolivar (161).

Posting 4-1 records with third-place finishes for the Falcons were Dalton Bridges at 126 pounds, Kyler Griep at 152 and Shane Gillmore at 182. Addison Canale also took third place at 132 with a 3-2 record.

Levi Haney finished four at 138 with a 3-1 record and Ben Thomas took fourth at 145 with a 2-2 mark. Adam Jurgensmeyer placed ninth at 170 with a 1-3 record.

Gillmore won three of his matches by fall, while Bridges, Canale, Haney and Griep each had two wins by fall.

The Versailles Tigers finished eighth with 106 points, led by Michael Trotter's first-place finish at 182 pounds.

Drew Loganbill took first at 132 for the Tipton Cardinals, who finished 13th in the team standings with 75 points.

Blair Oaks wrestles Tuesday at Eldon in a tri-dual with the Mustangs and School of the Osage.
