UNION, Mo. — The Jefferson City Lady Jays methodically increased their lead before pulling away in the third quarter to win 53-28 on Friday against Francis Howell Central in the semifinals of the Union Invitational.
Jefferson City led 12-7 after the first quarter 25-14 at halftime and outscored the Lady Spartans 18-6 in the third quarter to take a 43-20 advantage into the final quarter.
Caitlin Anderson led the Lady Jays with 12 points. Ileah Chambly and Hannah Nilges each added 10 points for Jefferson City (8-6), which will face Sullivan at 5:30 p.m. today in the championship game.
