Boys Basketball: Fatima 55, Fulton 51

CALIFORNIA, Mo. - The Fulton Hornets won their 12th straight game to start the season Wednesday, holding on to beat the Fatima Comets 55-51 in the semifinals of the California Tournament.

The Hornets led 14-11 after one quarter, 32-24 at halftime and 44-37 through three quarters.

The Comets cut the deficit to one point with about a minute to play and had a chance to tie the game at the end, but a turnover with less than :10 to play allowed the Hornets to seal the win.

Brett Werner led the Comets with 26 points.

Fatima (7-8), the No. 5 seed, faces second-seeded Warrensburg in the third-place game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
