Girls Basketball: South Callaway wins district title

WESTPHALIA - The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs kept their undefeated season alive Friday night, rallying for 32 points in the final eight minutes to beat the Hermann Lady Bearcats 78-70 in the championship game of the Class 3 District 9 Tournament.

It's the first district title for the South Callaway girls basketball program.

South Callaway led 16-15 after one quarter, but Hermann took a 35-27 lead into halftime and was ahead 54-46 by the end of the third quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Bearcats 32-16 in the fourth quarter, starting the final quarter on an 8-2 run in the first two minutes.

Adrian Mann scored 31 of her team-high 38 points in the second half. Paige Clubb finished with 16 points, while DeLaney Horstman also reached double figures with 11 points.

South Callaway (26-0) will play the winner of the District 10 championship between Licking (24-2) and Houston (12-15) at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Missouri S&T in Rolla.
