Boys Basketball: Jamestown 97, Bunceton 22

ELDON - The Jamestown Eagles came up just short of the century mark Thursday, defeating the Bunceton Dragons 97-22 in the first round of the Class 1 District 9 Tournament.

Jamestown led 29-9 after one quarter and 53-14 at halftime. The Eagles added 32 points in the third quarter to pull away to an 85-18 advantage heading into the fourth.

Five players finished in double figures for the Eagles, led by Austin Flippin with a game-high 21 points. Garret Wolfe and Cole Theissen each scored 15 points, while Trenton Barbour and Clark Rohrbach each chipped in 10 points.

Jamestown (24-2), the district's No. 1 seed and ranked No. 3 in Class 1, faces fourth-seeded Prairie Home (15-11) at 7 p.m. today in the semifinals.
