Falcons open district tourney play with 71-37 victory

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons opened Class 3 District 9 play Tuesday afternoon with a 71-37 victory against the South Callaway Bulldogs.

The top-seeded Falcons led 15-5 after one quarter and extended that advantage to 39-17 at the half. It was 62-27 in favor of Blair Oaks after three quarters.

Tim Fick tossed in 14 points to lead three Falcons in double figures. Braydan Pritchett added 12, while Justin Cobb totaled 10.

Blair Oaks (20-5) will face Father Tolton in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Tolton advanced with a 43-27 victory against Fatima in Monday's second first-round contest.

In other first-round action, second-seeded Southern Boone defeated Dixon 73-59 while third-seeded St. James downed Hermann 70-46.
