WESTPHALIA, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons were able to avoid a first-round upset as they edged St. James 43-41 on Monday in the Class 3 District 9 Tournament.
The third-seeded Lady Falcons trailed the sixth-seeded Lady Tigers 15-13 after the first quarter. By halftime, Blair Oaks was ahead 26-21 and led 34-32 after three quarters.
Sydney Wilde led Blair Oaks with 10 points, Brooke Boessen scored nine and Bailey Rissmiller added eight.
Blair Oaks (20-4) will take on No. 2 seed Hermann at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the tournament semifinals. Hermann defeated Dixon 68-31 on Monday.
