NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - St. Elizabeth saw an eight-point halftime lead disappear Thursday, but the Hornets responded in the fourth quarter to beat the New Bloomfield Wildcats 66-60 in Show-Me Conference play.
The score was tied at 10 after one quarter, but the Hornets went into halftime with a 32-24 lead.
The Wildcats scored 23 points in the third quarter to take a 47-46 lead, but St. Elizabeth outscored New Bloomfield 20-13 in the final eight minutes to get the road win.
Ross Struemph led the Hornets with 17 points and Mason Kemna finished with 13 points.
St. Elizabeth (12-11, 5-3 Show-Me) concludes the regular season today at home against Calvary Lutheran. New Bloomfield (19-6, 4-4 Show-Me), ranked No. 9 in Class 2, hosts Sturgeon at 9 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Class 2 District 8 Tournament.
