STEELVILLE, Mo. - The Steelville Cardinals wrapped up at least a share of the Gasconade Valley Conference championship Wednesday with a 77-46 win against the Belle Tigers.
Belle trailed just 16-13 after one quarter, but a 31-point outburst by Steelville in the second quarter extended the Cardinals' lead to 47-25 at halftime. Steelville led 59-37 after three quarters.
Tucker Cordsmeyer led the Tigers with 12 points, adding five rebounds.
Belle (11-13, 2-3 GVC), the No. 5 seed, opens Class 2 District 9 Tournament play Monday against fourth-seeded Newburg at Laquey.
