Girls Basketball: Eugene 45, Linn 34

EUGENE - The Eugene Lady Eagles topped the Linn Lady Wildcats 45-34 on Monday night.

Eugene jumped out to a 14-3 lead after one quarter, and the Lady Eagles continued to lead 27-11 at halftime and 38-20 through three quarters.

Margaret Stieferman scored a game-high 13 points for Eugene. Alexis Angerer also reached double figures with 11 points.

Lindsey Brandt totaled eight points for Linn, while Lexie Heidbrink added seven.

Eugene (5-4) is off until the Linn Tournament. The second-seeded Lady Eagles play either No. 3 Newburg or No. 6 Eldon in the semifinals Friday, Dec. 28.

Linn (4-5) will play host to its own Invitational starting Dec. 27 against St. Elizabeth.
