RUSSELLVILLE - The Tipton Lady Cardinals defeated the Russellville Lady Indians 72-61 on Thursday night.
Abby Backes finished with a game-high 25 points for Tipton, which led 22-15 after one quarter and 39-33 at the half.
Alexa Jurgensmeyer added 24 for the Lady Cardinals, while Brooklynn Pace chipped in with 15.
Jayla Volkart led four Russellville players in double figures with 19 points. Macie Edwards added 13, while Chyan Wilkes chipped in with 12. Allison Schrimpf totaled 10.
Tipton (5-0, ranked No. 5 in Class 2) will play Monday at Cole Camp. Russellville (4-2) will host Prairie Home on Monday.
