Helias fourth, Jays take fifth at Capital City Invitational

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders and Jefferson City Jays both finished in the top five of the team standings Monday in the Capital City Invitational, hosted by Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

Helias took fourth place out of 19 teams with a score of 330. The Jays finished four strokes behind the Crusaders to finish fifth.

Rockhurst won the team title with a 314. Rock Bridge and Timberland tied for second with a 319.

Jack Rundle led the Crusaders with a second-place finish out of 103 individuals, shooting a 3-over 75. Drew Higgins also medaled for Helias, finishing in a five-way tie for third place with a 78.

Nathan Erickson led the Jays with a 7-over 79 to tie for eighth place.

Rock Bridge's Hudson Dubinski was the individual champion with a 2-over 74.

Blair Oaks took 18th place in the team standings with a 398. Jake Closser led the Falcons with a 93 to tie for 53rd place.

Fatima did not field enough golfers to post a team score. Garrett Huber led the Comets, shooting a 102.
