SEDALIA, Mo. — The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons took second place out of 19 teams Monday at the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Invitational.

The Lady Falcons won four events, finishing with 110 points in the team standings. Smith-Cotton won the girls team title with 147 points. Glasgow was third with 91 points, followed by Versailles with 82 and Eugene with 77 to round out the top five.

The Smith-Cotton boys also finished first with 199 points, more than doubling up second-place Crest Ridge's 93.5 points. Versailles was third with 89 points, Blair Oaks took fourth with 73.5 points and Glasgow was fifth with 67.

Emily Yaeger and Grace Scott were both double-winners for the Lady Falcons. They started their day with the 4x800-meter relay, and along with Kayla Jones and Natalie Heckman, Blair Oaks posted a first-place finish.

Yaeger then won the 1,600-meter run, while Scott placed first in the 3,200-meter run. Kati Schoeneberg took second in the 3,200 to give Blair Oaks 18 points from the event in the team standings.

Hannah Schroeder also picked up a victory in the girls javelin for Blair Oaks and Lexi McCulloch took third place.

The Blair Oaks girls posted a pair of runner-up finishes in the relay events, with Kaelin Forck, Bailey Rissmiller, Malerie Strong and Emily Sporleder running the 4x100-meter relay and Sporleder, Chloe Cox, Claire Russell and Heckman competing in the 4x400-meter relay.

Annette Peterson also took second place in the discus and third place in the shot put for the Lady Falcons.

Eugene's Jasmine Evers was a double-winner for the Lady Eagles, claiming the titles in the shot put and discus. Hannah Whan of Versailles won the girls pole vault.

The Blair Oaks boys came home with two event wins.

Adam McCauley, Kyler Griep, Marcus Edler and Cole Brenneke finished the day on the track with a win in the 4x400. Josh Henson picked up his second win of the season Monday in the javelin.

The Falcons added a second-place finish in the 4x800, running the relay with Griep, Josh Malone, McCauley and Brenneke.

Finishing third for the Falcons were Brenneke in the 800-meter run, Edler in the 200-meter dash and Tucker Downing in the discus. Hayden Irvin tied for third place in the 100-meter dash.

Kendall Reger of Versailles was a double-winner in the boys 800 and 1,600, while Kooper Wilson finished first in the triple jump for the Tigers. Tipton's Isaac Ashton also claimed first in the 3,200.
