Prep Baseball: Jamestown 6, Russellville 1

JAMESTOWN, Mo. - The Russellville Indians exploded for 26 runs on 21 hits Monday, but they were held to just five hits Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to the Jamestown Eagles.

The Indians struck first with a run in the top of the fourth, but the Eagles answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning before scoring four insurance runs in the sixth.

Ethan Huff drove in Trenton Morrow on a double for Russellville's only run. Austin Flippin gave Jamestown a 2-1 lead with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth.

Huff and Morrow each went 2-for-3 to lead the Indians.

Morrow took the loss on the mound, allowing two runs on eight hits with one walk and six strikeouts. Nikolas Graham pitched the last two innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on three hits with three walks and one strikeout.

Mack Sorrells earned the win for Jamestown. He gave up one run on five hits with three walks and one strikeout. Garrett Wolfe pitched two scoreless innings without a hit, finishing with one walk and two strikeouts.

Wolfe and William Lieser each had one single and one double for the Eagles. Jarrett Corman had two singles and two RBI, while Brandon Thompson and Clark Rohrbach each had two singles.

Russellville (8-8) plays today at South Callaway in Show-Me Conference action.

Jamestown (5-2) hosts Pilot Grove on Friday.

In Tuesday's JV game, Russellville lost 8-7 in three innings to Jamestown.
