Helias softball tops Rock Bridge

The Helias Lady Crusaders jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings Monday night on their way to a 6-0 victory against the Rock Bridge Bruins at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex.

Helias plated a run in the first and added three in the third. The Lady Crusaders got their final two runs in the fifth.

Taylor Woehr and Kenley Haslag had two hits each in a seven-hit Helias attack. They both had a double and two RBI. Lauren Howell and Emily Harrison also drove in a run.

Woehr scored twice to pace the Lady Crusaders.

Howell went the distance to get the win, finishing with a five-hitter. She walked one and struck out eight.

Rock Bridge is now 10-13.

Helias (16-4) will host Father Tolton on Wednesday. The JV game will start at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest around 6:30 p.m.
