Prep Softball: Vienna wins tourney

VIENNA, Mo. - The Vienna Lady Eagles won their home round-robin tournament Saturday with a 12-1 win against Richland in five innings and an 8-2 victory against Newburg.

Jordyn Steffen paced the offense against Richland with a single, double and four RBI. She also got the win in the circle, allowing one run on three hits with a walk and four strikeouts in four innings.

Marsie Messersmith struck out two in a perfect fifth inning.

Corlis Kloeppel drove in three runs with a single and a double.

Taylour Schoene stole a base and drove in a run to go along with a team-high three hits.

Alicia Long earned her first career win against Newburg, allowing one earned run on three hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in five innings. She also drove in three runs with a single and a double.

Lexi Struemph added a single, double and two RBI.

Vienna (14-4) plays Monday at Bourbon.
