Blair Oaks softball beats Fatima to extend streak

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - A four-run third inning proved to be more than enough Thursday for the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons, as they defeated Fatima 7-1 for their 18th consecutive victory.

Hannah Schroeder had three hits and two RBI for Blair Oaks. Sydney Wilde added a bases-clearing double for the Lady Falcons.

Makenna Kliethermes struck out 11 batters and allowed only one hit with two walks to earn the win. She also contributed at the plate with two hits. Kayla Jones added two hits and one RBI.

Morgan Laux drove in the lone Fatima run.

Macy Berhorst took the loss in the pitcher's circle, allowing four runs in three innings. She struck out two and walked one.

Ally Bonnot pitched four innings of relief, surrendering three runs with two walks and a strikeout.

Fatima (11-5) will face Branson and Kickapoo today in the Springfield Tournament.

Blair Oaks (18-2) will start play in the Kewpie Classic today against Southern Boone and Francis Howell.

Blair Oaks won Thursday's JV game 6-3 to improve to 15-0. Kaitlyn Luebbering was the winning pitcher, striking out four batters in three innings. Luebbering also hit a two-run home run for the Lady Falcons.

Ellie Kliethermes added one hit and one RBI.
