Prep Softball: Fatima 6, Helias 5

WESTPHALIA, Mo. - Trailing by five runs with three outs to go, the Fatima Lady Comets had yet to score a run entering the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday against the Helias Lady Crusaders.

They would score the game's next six runs.

Fatima plated five runs in the seventh to force extra innings, then Macy Berhorst hit a walk-off solo home run in the eighth to give the Lady Comets a 6-5 win.

Berhorst also picked up the win in the pitcher's circle, scattering five hits in eight innings. She also walked one and struck out four.

Makayla Buscher added two hits and one RBI for Fatima, while Katelyn Plassmeyer had one hit and one RBI. Berhorst finished with two hits.

Taylor Woehr, Rylee Kolb, Kenley Haslag, Holly Hentges and Emily Harrison each had one single for Helias.

Abbi Pringer took the loss, pitching one-plus inning of relief and allowing five runs on three hits with two walks. Lauren Howell struck out four and gave up one hit and three walks in the first 3 innings. Tabitha Imhoff pitched the next 2 innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out one.

Helias (13-2) hosts Hickman today. Fatima (11-4) hosts Blair Oaks on Thursday.
