ST. ELIZABETH, Mo. — Nolan Heckemeyer struck out 10 batters in four innings of relief, powering the St. Elizabeth Hornets to a 7-5 win against the New Bloomfield Wildcats.
Heckemeyer also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored.
Ross Struemph pitched the first three innings, allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
Mason Kemna went 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Brady Heckemeyer went 2-for-4 with one triple and two runs scored.
St. Elizabeth (8-1) opens the Vienna Tournament against Richland on Friday.
