Blair Oaks starts tourney 2-0

The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons beat North Callaway 10-0 and Hickman 3-2 on Friday to advance to the semifinals of the Capital City Softball Invitational at 63 Diamonds.

The first game, which Blair Oaks won in five innings, saw Makenna Kliethermes throw three scoreless innings, allowing a hit and striking out seven. Meredith Eisterhold threw the final two innings, giving up two hits.

Sydney Wilde had three hits and an RBI for the Lady Falcons, Hannah Schroeder added two hits and an RBI, and Brooke Boessen hit a two-RBI double. Nicole Bryan added a two-RBI single and Cameron Dulle had an RBI single.

In the second game, which was shortened to six innings due to time, Kliethermes threw a complete game, allowing one earned run on three hits. She had 13 strikeouts against one walk.

Macey Stockman and Kliethermes both had two hits in the game, Schroeder added an RBI single, and Boessen had two hits and an RBI. The Lady Falcons walked off, as Bailey Rissmiller stole second and the throw down went into center field. Hickman's center fielder could not field the errant  throw cleanly and Rissmiller was able to score from second to win the game.

Blair Oaks plays today at 10:45 a.m. against Lee's Summit North in the semifinals.
