The Jefferson City Jays closed the regular season Wednesday with a 3-1 loss to the Rockhurst Hawklets at the 179 Soccer Park.
Rockhurst took a 1-0 lead in the first half, converting a penalty kick after a handball. The Jays tied it on a goal by Max Allen, assisted by Peter Kuster.
The Hawklets, ranked No. 2 in Class 4 by the Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association, regained the lead early in the second half before scoring an insurance goal late to seal the victory.
Jefferson City is the No. 2 seed in the Class 4 District 11 Tournament and will take on Rock Bridge at 7 p.m. Monday at Hickman in Columbia. The first semifinal will pit top-seeded Sedalia Smith-Cotton against Hickman at 5 p.m.
The title game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
